Getting started
Welcome to City Explorer, a live streaming platform where Explorers broadcast city tours and viewers tune in from anywhere in the world. You can watch streams, chat live, tip streamers you love, and subscribe to your favourites for ad-free viewing and a subscriber badge in chat.
Download the mobile app to go live, or use the web app to watch and interact from any browser.
Watching streams
Browse live streams from the Explore page, or open the app to see the interactive globe of streamers currently live. Tap any stream to watch, chat, and follow the streamer.
Going live
Going live happens in the City Explorer mobile app. Tap Go Live in the middle of the tab bar and follow the steps:
- What are you streaming? Pick Explorer to walk your city and show people around, or Driver to take viewers along for the ride. Businesses are set up by our team, including their cameras and listing.
- Stream tips. Read a few short tips for your role. Drivers confirm they won't handle the phone while driving. New streamers start as trainees: only our team can watch, for up to 15 minutes a day, until we promote you.
- About your stream. Pick a scheduled stream to fill everything in, or add a title and categories. Drivers skip this step: their title and category are set for them.
- Where and how. Set your location, an optional displayed label and the stream quality, then tap Preview stream and go live.
Allow camera and microphone access when the app asks. The first time, it also sets up your stream key for you.
Tips and subscriptions
Payments on the web are processed by Stripe and paid to City Explorer, which then pays each streamer their share. Subscriptions renew monthly and can be cancelled any time from your Dashboard.
