Terms of Service

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use City Explorer, and at least 18 to receive creator earnings. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

2. Acceptable use

Don’t stream, post, or transmit content that is:

• Unlawful, or that infringes someone else’s rights (copyright, trademark, privacy).
• Harassing, threatening, or that incites violence against individuals or groups.
• Sexually explicit, or that depicts or exploits minors in any way.
• Spam, deceptive, or that impersonates another person or organisation.
• Designed to circumvent platform security, rate limits, or moderation.

Streaming, recording, or chat behaviour we judge to be a breach of these rules may result in stream takedown, account suspension, or permanent termination.

3. Objectionable content & moderation

City Explorer has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. To keep the community safe:

• Chat and other user-generated content pass through automated filtering for abusive language.
• Every piece of user-generated content can be reported in-app (long-press a chat message, or use the report option on a profile).
• You can block any user. Blocking hides their content from you immediately and notifies our moderation team.
• Our team reviews every report within 24 hours, removes content that breaks these rules, and ejects the user responsible.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you broadcast, post, or upload. By submitting content to the Service you grant City Explorer a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

5. Payments

Who you pay. Tips and subscriptions are paid to City Explorer (Pole to Pole Limited), not directly to the creator. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. In the iOS app they are processed by Apple, and in the Android app by Google Play, under those stores’ own terms. Prices are set in US dollars; the App Store and Google Play may charge an equivalent amount in your local currency.

Tips. A tip is a voluntary payment to support a creator. It does not buy any goods or features. Tips are not charitable donations, and City Explorer is not a charity.

Subscriptions. A subscription supports one creator and gives you that creator’s subscriber perks (currently ad-free viewing of their streams and a subscriber badge in their chat) for as long as it is active, wherever you sign in. A subscription bought on the web renews every month until you cancel it; you can cancel at any time from your billing settings, and it stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. A subscription bought in the app lasts one month (30 days) and does not renew; buying it again adds another month.

Taxes. Prices are the total you pay. Where VAT or sales tax applies to a web payment, it is included in the price. In the iOS and Android apps, Apple or Google adds any tax that applies in your country.

How creators are paid. City Explorer pays creators a share of what it receives, under the Creator earnings and payouts terms below. Your payment is never sent to a creator at the moment you pay.

Your right to cancel (UK and EU). If you live in the UK or the European Union, the law gives you 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. When you subscribe on the web, you ask us to start your subscription immediately and acknowledge that you lose that right once it starts; we confirm this in the email we send when your subscription begins. A tip is complete when you send it, so it cannot be cancelled either. You can still stop a subscription renewing at any time from your billing settings; it stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Purchases in the iOS and Android apps follow Apple’s and Google’s rules.

Refunds. All payments are final and non-refundable, including for partly used subscription periods, except where a technical problem stopped you completing a purchase or receiving what you paid for (for example a duplicate charge or missing subscriber perks), where the payment was made without your authorisation, or where the law requires a refund. To ask for a refund of a web payment, email us at info@cityexplorer.live with the details; we may ask for information to verify the payment. Purchases made in the iOS or Android app are refunded by Apple or Google under their policies; request them through the App Store (“Report a Problem”) or Google Play. If a payment is refunded or charged back, the perks it paid for end.

Refund abuse. We may refuse refund requests, restrict your ability to make purchases, or suspend your account if we find you are abusing refunds or chargebacks, for example by repeatedly asking for refunds of perks you used or disputing payments you made.

6. Creator earnings and payouts

These terms apply to Explorer (streamer) accounts that receive tips and subscriptions. Business (venue) accounts do not earn.

1. Accepting these terms. Before your first payout you accept these creator terms on your Earnings page and confirm you are 18 or older; we record the version and the date. They then apply to all your earnings, including those recorded before you accepted. When we change them, we ask you to accept the new version before your next payout.
2. Your share. You earn 70% of the net amount City Explorer receives for each tip and subscription payment to you. “Net” means the price the viewer paid, minus any sales tax or VAT collected and minus the fee charged by the payment processor or app store (Stripe, Apple or Google). City Explorer keeps the other 30%.
3. Currency. All earnings are calculated and recorded in US dollars. Payments made in another currency are converted at the rate the processor or store applies.
4. Holding period. An earning becomes payable 30 days after a web payment, and 60 days after an App Store or Google Play payment, because the stores pay City Explorer about a month after the end of each month.
5. Payout threshold. We pay you once your payable balance reaches US$50. Payouts are made by hand by our team, by bank transfer, PayPal, Wise or another method we agree with you. We ask for your payout details by email and do not store bank details in the app. Each payout appears, with its reference, on your earnings page.
6. Refunds and chargebacks. If a payment you earned from is refunded or successfully disputed, your share of it is deducted from your balance, even if it was already paid out. Your balance can then go below zero; a negative balance is offset against your future earnings, and we will not ask you to repay it otherwise. City Explorer bears any processing fee that is not returned on a refund, and any dispute fee.
7. Deleting your account. If you delete your account, any earnings not yet paid out, whether payable or still in their holding period, are forfeited to City Explorer and will not be paid. Request a payout before deleting if your balance has reached the threshold.
8. Suspension. If your account is suspended for breaching these terms, your balance is held and not paid while the suspension lasts. It becomes payable again if the account is restored.
9. Age and identity. You must be 18 or older to be paid. Before paying you we may ask you to prove your identity and age, and that the payout account is in your name; we hold a payout until you do.
10. Taxes. You are responsible for reporting and paying any tax due on your earnings. We may ask you for tax information before paying you.
11. Changes. We may change these creator terms, including the revenue share, with at least 30 days’ notice. Changes apply only to payments received after they take effect.

7. Termination

You can permanently delete your account at any time from your Dashboard. Deletion is irreversible — your profile, streams, chat history, and follower graph are removed and cannot be recovered. If you are a creator, deleting your account forfeits any earnings not yet paid out to you (see Creator earnings and payouts). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or applicable law; payouts are held while an account is suspended.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, City Explorer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
